Grand Marnier Crème Brulee Recipe

While Crème Brulee can be an intimidating dish for some, it's very much worth the work! Follow our simple recipe and you'll be sure to make a delicious dessert. The orange flavor of the Grand Marnier perks up this Crème Brulee.

  • 9 egg yolks
  • 1 quart + 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup Grand Marnier
  • ¾ cup + ¼ cup sugar + as needed for brulee
  • Zest of 1 medium orange + zest of 1 medium orang
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 tsp vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
Preparation Steps:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Heat 1 quart heavy cream, zest of 1 orange, and ¾ cup sugar in saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Whisk yolks until they are a pale yellow.
  4. Slowly temper cream into yolks. (One ladle at a time)
  5. Add Grand Marnier, 1 tbsp. vanilla, and pinch of salt.
  6. Ladle into ramekins.
  7. Place ramekins on a sheet pan, fill sheet pan with water bath.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes, or until set.
  9. Cool for at least 4 hours.
  10. Combine 1 pint heavy cream, 1 tsp vanilla, and zest of 1 orange. Whisk until stiff peaks are formed.
  11. Sprinkle with a thin layer of sugar and caramelize with a torch.
  12. Garnish with 1 tbsp. orange whipped cream.

When students come in for our classes they can expect great training, technique, fun, and a party! But they can pick and choose what they want We have some students that come in so they can up their game We've got other students who might come in for a Friday or Saturday night They're getting a show, they are getting technical training but they sit back, relax, sip on a glass of wine and it's their choice how much they participate. I love that look on a persons face when they go "oh my gosh, I can't wait to go home and try this out" Literally, cooking changes the chemical compounds in food Figuratively, cooking changes the way you eat, it changes the way people interact together, and it changes your experience. It's in that process, where you're sitting together, you're cooking you're learning about what's being cooked, but really what's happening is you're starting to talk about life stories. It's through those life stories that you end up getting enriched yourself because it just broadens your experience Everyone has to sustain themselves and if we can do it together in the kitchen it's something that we really want to nurture in our community.
